|Volatile hails from Rochester, NY and is a versatile multi-threat as a producer, emcee, recording engineer, graphic designer & more. His lyrical flow
& style have been influenced by the legends such as Nas, Rakim & Jay-Z, along with other great & witty lyricists such as Royce Da 5'9 & Joe
Budden. His production style is in the vein of great sampling legends DJ Premier & Pete Rock along with new age influences like !llmind, Apollo
Brown, Black Milk & more!
Volatile previously made a name for himself over the past decade as 1/2 of the duo 'R.E.A.L. (Reality Ends All Lies)' with fellow Rochester emcee
'Lava the FreshNerd'. The duo released 4 official projects (Write Bros. Pt. 1 & 2, the Short Summer EP, & the Long Winter EP) along with multiple
mixtape releases prior. The group also worked with the likes of NYC up and comer and DJ Premier protege 'J57' (production credits with Method
Man, Soul Khan, BBAS, Blame One, Ras Kass & more) and Chicago producer 'Rediculus' (Knowledge Giving Birth / Platformz Music) among others.
Their group work consistently received great reviews from peers, online radio and bloggers alike, including NYC's Birthplace Magazine & the
popular online radio podcasts such as "Straight from the Underground 2.0" hosted by DJ Chris G.
Following the group's disbanding in mid 2015, Volatile took a slight hiatus from music before deciding to make a return as strictly a solo artist. He
has since completed a unique series entitled #1616sFor16 which included 11 tracks and a total or 16 verses, all over his own original production.
Volatile is also poised to release his first solo album with a targeted release of Spring 2018.
Volatile is also known for another unique and ongoing music series he calls the #LiveFrom series. Starting with a 2013 trip to the Brooklyn Hip Hop
Festival, Volatile had the idea to make a beat on the way to the destination (since he always brought his equipment) & upon arrival he would set up
his mobile studio and any emcees on the trip or that he knew in the area would write to and record verses for the track right in the hotel room.
Volatile has continued the series ever since, while partaking in all the major hip hop festivals including 3 Brooklyn Hip Hop Festivals, 2 A3C festivals
in ATL, 1 trip to Austin for SXSW, as well as other travel locations like Manhattan, Queens, and Toronto. The series continues to be unique and is
always interesting to see how these locations inspired the tracks.
Volatile has branched off into many merchandise endeavors as well. A firm believer in branding, Volatile has always made it a priority to
have creative merchandise to accompany live shows and help promote, leaving fans with something tangible to buy or take with them. As par
t of 'R.E.A.L.', he started the #REALrecognizeREAL campaign equipped with a self designed logo. Upon his solo return, Volatile decided to officiall
y brand his clothing designs under the new #22NDLTTR brand. The brand's first release was the #MakeAmericaRapAgain campaign as a satirical
spin on presidential hopeful (at the time) Donald Trump's controversial slogan. Volatile also released the "ROC the Mic" design inspired by the
music scene in his hometown of ROChester. The latest release by #22NDLTTR is a "Volatile Hip Hop" logo inspired by the Genesee Beer logo
(brewed in Rochester). All of these designs are available in the MERCH section and more designs and releases are in the works.
